In 1990 it was felt essential to formalize the so-called TGIF Committee into a Coordinating Committee for Research (CCR) with coordinating power on matters related to the day to day operation.[1] The committee, composed of the three research directors, PPE, TH, EPC, CN division leaders, deputies, coordinator for instrumentation engineering, and chairman of the board for Resource Planning and Administration,[2] met for the first time on 27 February 1990.[3] In 1997 the committee was expanded to the Coordinating Committee for Computing and Research (CCCR) composed of the Directors of Research and the leaders of the Theoretical Physics (TH), Particle Physics Experiments (PPE), Electronics and Computing for Physics (ECP) and Computing and Networking (CN) Divisions.[4]

The committee was discontinued at the end of 2003.
