The Organisational Support and Improvement Department (OSI), established in 2026, is a CERN-wide resource dedicated to improving organisational processes, strengthening resilience and advancing open research practices. It leads service management, risk and crisis management, and business continuity activities at CERN and coordinates the Organization’s open science, preservation and sustainability efforts. Through multi-functional teams, OSI provides expert guidance on service and process optimisation, resilience, and scientific information and records management, ensuring a culture of continuous improvement and effective practices across CERN.

The department is lead by Alexander Kohls.
